British Documents: The Pentagon Papers of Our Time?
The so-called Downing Street memos have been dismissed by some in the press as "old
news," but the same could be said of the Pentagon Papers when they were published. As
in that case, the shock value of the memos comes from their official nature, and they
bring key questions about deceit and poor judgment in the run-up to the Iraq war back for
public debate.

BDS Update: Sept 2005
As head of the Democratic party Dean now takes the position that US should support the war now that we are there. I strongly disagree and am no longer a Dean supporter. We need to leave, NOW, and apologize profusely; turn the operation over to the United Nations supported by USA money to the tune of about the current military spending of a billion dollars a week, at least for several years. Some believe we need to stay to clean up the mess we caused. But there is nothing we can do. Staying only makes things worse. Leaving is the best of all bad choices. If there were effective International justice Bush, Blair and many others should be tried for treason and war crimes and spend time in prison or be hanged!
